Invented by Harry MacElhone at Harry's New York Bar in Paris around 1919–1923. A refined, elegant gin sour with a silky texture when foamed.

Dry shake (if using egg white) then shake hard with ice. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist or cherry.
